Okay, don't shoot me. I know it's November. Still.
But I'm looking forward to Christmas.
November is my busiest month. That is why I like to take on challenges like NaNoWriMo (since ditched) and NaBloPoMo (still going!) because there's nothing like a little over-commitment to keep the adrenalin pumping.
November is when my students sit their exams and hand in final papers and they all need to be marked by this Friday in the case of the exams, and the following Friday in the case of the written papers. Plus there was the jazz concert and the violin recital and also there is grass to cut, children to feed, goats to chase, and cats to molly-coddle. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, roll on Christmas.
I realise the sentiment is offensive to most (my mother, for example, for whom Christmas is always a self-imposed deadline for getting things done, things which conceivably could wait until January, and who every year announces that, because of this deadline, she is "not going to any trouble this Christmas", which perhaps would have more weight if she had been to any trouble since 1972, but again I digress) so I apologise for willing the rest of the year away, but I'm just really, really tired.
And having posted something today (it's words, innit? I'm still in the running, baby!) it's back to marking.
